Professor Vickers’ Visiting Fellowships include: the University of Cambridge (UK), the National University of Singapore, the University of Indonesia and Brayton Wilbur Jr. Fellow at the Asian Art Museum, San Francisco. He is the author of acclaimed books on Indonesian history and art, including A History of Modern Indonesia; Bali: A Paradise Created; Balinese Art; and the award-winning Pearl Frontier, a history of the Australian/Eastern Indonesian pearling industryHis works have been translated into six languages.
